A while ago on the PG-13 forums someone (TB Tabby, now that I think about it) came up with a great idea of making a PG-13 expansion set to Magic: The Gathering based upon things like Ninpuchan and the like. A lot of interest bubbled up, and I pitched in too, but eventually things seemed to pitter out.
However, later, I was talking to Joe, and the subject came up, and he said he was still really interested, but we agreed that trying to revive the topic on PG-13 would be more trouble than it was worth, due to nonsensical suggestions from those unfamiliar with MTG, and too many cooks spoiling the broth from those who were familiar.
So the two of us started working on a set, instead of PG-13 we just went for a plain pregnancy themed set, trying to think of suitable cards that seemed believable already within Magic. We had some basic rules (i.e. rules as to how "Pregnancy" worked), and some basic themes for the different colours (i.e. Green focuses on producing a lot of creatures through pregnancy, Black focuses on using creatures in the graveyard to cause/augment pregnancies, etc.) and then went from there.
So, without further ado, here we are;
Much credit to Gravidtron who very graciously let us use some images from Brigadier Swirl (which can be found on PG-13) for the Gravidophilia and Fatigue cards. Furthermore he deserves thansk for also let us use images from scans of Jigoku Sensei Nuube, also on PG-13, for the Boze and Boze Eater cards. The scans are also credited in turn to 'Stephen' whose copy it was and who translated it, and of course, author Shou Makura and artist Takeshi Okano who made it in the first place.
Where does it go now, is the question. Anyone who wants to help us welcome to, as you can see were are completely lacking in illustrations, so they would be much appreciated.If you want to make more cards with your own idea and you are willing to follow our outlined pregnancy rules you can feel welcome to send them in, if we like the card we'll credit you and add it to the set. The program we used to make most of these cards is MtG Editor, which is free for anyone to download and really easy to use.
There's also the possibillity of going on to more specific sets, like a community, or PG-13 based set, as was originally suggested. I'm willing to help out with either, it's just a matter of interest.
