Miss Mars is a collaberation between myself and Saburo X. It was his idea originally, but he hadn't got by the idea stage for a while, and I asked him about it and he suggested that we co-write it ^_^. So, umm, anyway, well, the story is written by the both of us, and he draws the artwork. Here's the basic premise;
In the future Mars has been terraformed, and is now ready to be colonised by humans. However, humanity has not achieved a single peaceful nation, and there is still much struggling between the different countries. They all want Mars, and won't settle for anything less than the whole thing. So rather than blowing Earth apart in a war over who gets it, they decide to hold a competition to determine who controls it- based on the principle of whoever can colonise it fast enough wins. And thus International Competition Miss Mars starts!
The rules of the competition are this: each country interested presents a pregnant candidate to compete. The candidates aren't allowed to have an ultrasound or anything that would determine how many children they're having. Basically, then, they have to wait out the nine months until the end of the competition, and whoever's carrying the most children wins the planet.
The story basically follows the six finalists, that is the competitors representing (from East to West) Japan, China, India, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, during the main part of the competition, where they're living together (to be monitored, so they don't break the rules) and trying to get by as they grow ever huger.
